Design studio

A working session, not a sales meeting.

A 90-minute studio session with a senior specifier — sample library on the table, your floor plan in front of us, and an honest conversation about what will hold up for the next decade in your house.

What you leave with

Tangible outcomes, every time.

01

A paletted specification

Three to five materials selected and laid out, room by room, against your plan. A real document, not a moodboard.

02

Lead times you can trust

Each material checked against current mill availability before you walk out. No nasty surprises six weeks later.

03

A sample box to take home

Up to twelve full-size samples in a re-usable box, to test against your light and finishes for two weeks.

04

A written budget

Itemised material and installation budget. Honest about what we don't know yet, precise about what we do.

What to bring

Don't worry about being prepared.

The most useful thing you can bring is your floor plan, even a hand-sketched one. After that, anything that gives us context: photos of the rooms, paint samples already chosen, fabrics you love, and the one or two reference images that started the project.

If you have a contractor or architect involved, bring their contact — we will want to coordinate with them before the specification is finalised.

How sessions work

The mechanics.

How much does a studio session cost?
A 90-minute session is $185, credited in full against any subsequent material order over $2,000. Architects and registered designers attend at no charge.
What if I'm not ready to specify everything yet?
That's the most common starting point. We'll often run a session focused only on the kitchen, or only the primary bath, then return for the rest of the house in a second session a month later.
Can my contractor or architect attend?
Yes — encouraged. The session room seats six comfortably, and the conversation is much easier when the people who will build the work are in it.
How long until I get the written specification?
Within five working days of the session, you'll receive a PDF specification with material, mill, lead time, trim package, and itemised budget. Revisions are included for the following four weeks.

Mornings, afternoons, and Saturday slots. We'll match you with the specifier whose work fits your build.
